How to Feel Grateful About a Bad Thing. Men’s Health

We can’t be on 100% of the time. (See “Autopilot”) The problem is when our regular hours of downtime turn into days. I can personally feel my brain turning into mush when that happens, and I don’t like it. However, it can be very hard to break that feeling and pull yourself back to where you want to be. I uncovered the following parables that helped me with that struggle in Men’s Health.

How to feel grateful about a bad thing:

  1. How has this event benefited you as a person?
  2. Were there personal strengths that grew out of your experience?
  3. How has this event helped you appreciate the truly important people and things in your life?

While feeling grateful about a bad situation is positive introspection, I also ran across the following quote that caused my feelings of disdain to re-surface:

“Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.”
